Raymond's musical resume

As a kid I started to sing and play the guitar. At the age of 16 I had my first paid performances in the local hotels in Curaçao including the Hilton and Holiday Inn. During that time I had voice-lessons in New York for 2 months combined with a temporary job as a courier in the centre of the city.

After I finished high school, I went to the United States again at the age of 18, attended Saddleback College in California (south of Los Angeles) where I majored in voice (modern-light music) which included a wide variety of music theory, piano, sound-technique and dance courses.

At the age of 22 I moved to the Netherlands where I continued my music education at the Conservatory of Rotterdam. During that time I started a band with fellow students and we performed all over the country and also in Belgium and Germany. I took part as the lead-singer, together with a drummer, base- and keyboard player and often with additional musicians or in front of a Big Band. We played at wedding parties, receptions, ships and hotels and were valued for our all-round repertoire and music-styles. Our ability to adapt to different kinds of situations, themes and gatherings, were all part of our success.
